UK & International Wedding Photographer

Based in Cheshire, near Manchester

Hi. I’m Phil and I’d love to join you for your wedding, in the UK or beyond. I’m based in the North West of England, near Manchester and in Cheshire, but travel all over the world to photograph weddings in my unique, luxury style.

My goal is to keep your wedding looking relaxed and natural from the moment I arrive to the end of your day.

It’s what I do best.

Manchester to the World

Where do you want to get married?

Everyone has a vision for how they see their wedding day, and that can be everything from a rustic marquee in a field, to your local gothic town hall, to the cliffs of Santorini.

Wherever your dream leads you, I’ll follow.

A full day

Your wedding story is worth telling in full. Don’t you agree?

That’s why I’m with you from the start until the end.

From the nervous energy of the bridal preparation, the excitement of seeing each other for the first time, the guest congratulations, beautiful couple photographs, emotional speeches and through to the first dance and beyond, I’m in the background capturing all of the happy feelings, all of the love and all of the fun.

(I’ll even be there when you’re not, so you can see the bits which you missed first time around.)

My story

My photography career started 15 years ago in fashion and beauty. I spent my time obsessing over the tiniest details of flattering light, strong emotion and fun energy.

But I wanted everything to look beautiful, which reduced my flexibility. So, I switched to weddings where my eye would be more at home.

150 weddings later, and I still have the same goal.

Make everything beautiful.

My story

I started photography 15 years ago in fashion and beauty. I obsessed over the tiniest details of flattering light, strong emotion & fun energy.

Everything I photographed ended up looking beautiful, .. so I switched to weddings.

150 weddings later and my goal is still..

Spot the difference

Your wedding is over in a flash, but your photographic story takes time to perfect.

Check the differences this attention to detail brings by moving the blue “before and after” line on the photograph below.

Colours are richer, skin is subtly softer, shadows are brightened and dress detail is brought back. Five distractions are also removed. See if you can you spot them all.

Frequently Asked Questions

Typically, I prefer to work alone. I can get through a ridiculous amount of photography in a short amount of time and no one has ever felt they were missing anything.

If you’re worried I won’t be able to cover the bridal and groom prep, then if timed right, I most definitely can cover both – and have done many times.

If you absolutely need a second photographer, it might be possible, but be aware that more is not necessarily better; they will not photograph exactly like me, and they will end up getting in the way for some photos.

The only restriction is that you can’t sell them … but who would want to do that anyway? If you want to let every guest at the wedding download and print the files, that’s fine with me.

Just so you’re away, the photographs are delivered in high resolution and are not watermarked.

I do include a set for social media which have a small watermark, but you don’t have to use them. It just protects you since un-watermarked files found online can actually be used by anyone legally!

When I first started in weddings, I didn’t realise what everyone else was doing, so I chose to do what makes sense, which is to deliver a full set of colour and black & white photos.

Typically photographers will choose which they prefer, but you might have chosen differently. With my collection, you will always have the photo you love in the style you prefer.

I am and will be on your wedding day. I can provide a copy of my insurance certificate if your venue requires it, or increase my public liability insurance for venues where my cover isn’t sufficient.

Typically at a wedding I take about 3,000-4,000 photos. They are all deliverable by any reasonable wedding photography standard.

But by my standard, there are little improvements in expressions and positioning. These are the files I’ll choose and deliver.

For a full day wedding, I quote 400+ photos, but typically it’s over 500.

Rigorous!

For the photos; My camera is writing the photos to two cards in my camera all day, I put one card into my special memory card wallet when I’m driving home in case myself or my camera are damaged on the way home, copy the photos to two hard disk, put one card away in a fire safe vault and then start uploading them to the internet.

For equipment; I have at least two of everything I would need.

Typically, I finish the photos within 4-6 weeks of the wedding, although it might depend on the time of year and if I’m doing on holiday (yes, I get time off too!).

I’ll talk to you at the wedding about the estimated time for delivery.

If you need some photos for thank-you cards or just some for Facebook, I’m usually able to send these out within a week of the wedding.

Firstly, it’s typical to have at least a phone call, Skype call or a meet up to make sure I’m the right fit for your day.

In terms of booking, there’s a form to fill in which will take five minutes, then you pay the £500 retainer that’s sent automatically and it’s done.
