Thank you for your patience. I’m pleased to say your photos have now been delivered! But what can you do with the online gallery, and how should you take a backup to ensure you don’t lose any over the years?
Find out everything you need to know here..

What can you do?

The online gallery system is designed to be everything you need. You can:

  1. View all of your photos on desktop, tablet or phone.
  2. Download a single photo, or the full set of photos, in high resolution and ready for printing. You can also allow your friends and family to download photos, no matter where they are in the world.
  3. Share the gallery with all of your friends and family either by email or on social media so they can all see how amazing your day was.
  4. Choose your favourite photos, most often to notify me of the photos you’d like in a printed album.

Each of these actions is explained below. Please read them to make sure you don’t make any mistakes.

Viewing your photos

First off, take a look through the photos! I hope you love them!

For all weddings, there is a large banner image which you can scroll down from to see all of the photos.

Once you’ve scrolled down, you will usually be met with the “Highlights” collection. Look at the top of the page for the menu, which will usually show “Highlights”, “All colour photos” and “All B&W photos”, although there may be further collections for some occasions.

You can click on any of these to change the photos you’re viewing.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=”63744″ media_width_percent=”100″][vc_column_text]

  • “Highlights” is about 40% of the photos, in a mixture of colour and black & white
  • “All colour photos” is all of the photos delivered, but just in colour
  • “All B&W photos” is all of the photos delivered, but just in black & white.

Full screen view of a photo

The final import function in your online gallery is full screen view of a photo. The standard view of the gallery shows two, three, four or even five photos at smaller size next to each other, but you’ll want to see your photos big.

To do this, you click on any photo and it will zoom to fill the window.

There are a few more options when in this view. You can see the name of the photo underneath, should you need it, and using the options at the top you can share, favourite or download that photo (more on these later). If you click the left or right arrows to the side of the photo, you can move to the next or previous photo in that collection.

Finally, you can click “slideshow” and sit back and enjoy your photos as they scroll past. Click the “stop” button to return to the previous view.

To return to the standard gallery view with multiple photos side by side, click the “x” button in the top right.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=”63747″ media_width_percent=”100″][vc_column_text]You will need to enter your email address and the PIN code, which is in the delivery email I sent to you.

You will then be presented with a new page with options to choose from. To download everything from your online gallery, you should click all of the collections and then click “original” size. This will ensure you have all of your photos in the correct resolution for printing.

The system will produce (it takes a few minutes!) and allow you to download a ZIP file containing all of your photos, which Macs and PC’s should both be able to deal with without downloading further software. If you struggle with this, please contact me for assistance.

Downloading a set for social media

If you’d like a set for sharing on social media, you can go back through the process, choosing “start new download” and downloading in “web size”. You might want to just download the highlights this time, but this is up to you.

Remember though that the online gallery can be shared if you prefer. You can learn about that below.

Backing up your photos – important!

I’ve already mentioned it above, but your photos will be stored for a maximum of 3 years, so it’s important they are safe ideally in multiple locations.

I strongly recommend that you copy all of the photos you’ve downloaded onto multiple USB drives and give them to friends and family for safe keeping.

A 4Gb USB stick will usually be enough for this purpose, but the online gallery tells you the size of the download before you download them.

Downloading a single photo

If you’d like to quickly download a single photo, you can do so by hovering over a photo and clicking the download button which appears.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=”63746″ media_width_percent=”100″][vc_column_text]

Need more privacy?

Initially all collections are available to anyone who has the link to your gallery but it’s possible to password protect certain collections in order that you can share them with a wider audience, but keep some private. If you need this, please get in touch with me. I’ll be happy to set it up for you.

Downloading your photos

Your photos are stored online for a maximum of 3 years, so you need to make sure you have a copy of them at your house. I also recommend that you store a copy of them at friends and families houses too, for safe keeping.

What size to download photos at?

The system will ask at various times what size you’d like to download the photos at. If you will be printing the photo, I’d always recommend choosing full / original resolution. If you are downloading a photo just to share on social media, downloading at web size is fine.

Downloading all of the photos

Your online gallery allows you to download a single collection with the click of a button, shown below.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=”63745″ media_width_percent=”100″][vc_column_text]

Sharing your photos

It stands to reason you’ll want everyone to see your photos, and rightly so! The online gallery contains several ways to do this.

Firstly, and most obvious, you can forward the link on to your friends and family over email.

Be aware that your private download pin is in the email that I sent to you, which gives your friends and family the ability to download the entire set of photos in high resolution.

Secondly, you can click the “share” button, which is located next to the “download all photos” icon. There are options to share on all of the popular platforms.

Finally, you can share an individual photo by hovering over that photo and clicking the “share” button, highlighted below.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=”63748″ media_width_percent=”100″][vc_column_text]

Choosing your photos

If you’d like to make a note of your favourite photos, or if you’d like to choose the photos for an album you are having build, you can use the “favourite” option.

To favourite a photo, hover over it and click the “favourite” button which appears, as shown below. The first time you do this, you’ll be asked for an email address with which to store the favourites against.

Any favourites you have chosen will have a little “heart” flag on the top left of the photo so you can see it was selected.

[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=”63749″ media_width_percent=”100″][vc_column_text]

Choosing photos for an album

Using the favourites feature is the quickest and easiest method of choosing photos for your album. When you favourite a photo, I am able to see that it was selected and I can use this list to build your album with.

If you’ve previously created favourites, do so again with a different email address to ensure that your previous favourites aren’t mixed in.

Note that usually I will suggest a maximum number of photos to include in your album. Conveniently, the system keeps a count of the total amount of photos you have chosen and displays it next to the favourite icon in the top right.[/vc_column_text][vc_single_image media=”63750″ media_width_percent=”100″][vc_column_text]This will help you to keep track and ensure you haven’t included too many.

That’s it!

I hope you now have all of the information you need to enjoy your photos using the online gallery. If you have any questions at all, please do get in touch. I’ll be very happy to help![/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space empty_h=”4″][/vc_column][vc_column column_width_percent=”100″ overlay_alpha=”50″ gutter_size=”3″ medium_width=”0″ mobile_visibility=”yes” mobile_width=”0″ shift_x=”0″ shift_y=”0″ shift_y_down=”0″ z_index=”0″ width=”1/4″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row unlock_row_content=”yes” row_height_percent=”0″ override_padding=”yes” h_padding=”0″ top_padding=”2″ bottom_padding=”2″ back_image=”56492″ parallax=”yes” overlay_color=”color-jevc” overlay_alpha=”63″ equal_height=”yes” gutter_size=”3″ border_color=”transparent” medium_visibility=”yes” mobile_visibility=”yes” shift_y=”0″][vc_column width=”1/1″][uncode_block id=”63734″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
